Delectable Sentences
My
short term goal is to get something, anything published. I keep sending off my short stories and
novelettes, but so far, nobody seems interested. Long term, I would love to see a whole line
of books that chronicles the End Age timeline, and maybe even some surrounding
the stories of Nagelum and Ozzob.
I
want to build the name recognition, to have some level of success. I really don’t care
about the money, I just want to see my stuff in real-world print. I don’t mind doing
the work, and therein lies the problem, I look at the writing like its
work. I enjoy creating stories and
spinning together the character arcs, but my brain looks at the actual writing
and editing of prose like its work.
I
guess my thing is motivation. I need
more of it, or I need to redirect what I have to my writing. I want to put down more words per day, I just don’t seem to ever get it accomplished. I need to put to work some of my willpower
and make myself write a word quota everyday, but that doesn’t
work for me. I’m an obsessive
compulsive, I focus on one thing until its completely
exhausted, and then move on to the next.
So when I do write, I get like 20,000 words in
a week.
Distractions
are the bane of my writing. I have to many and I love them.
Is that a bad thing? I don’t ever want to get burnt out on the writing like I have
with some other things. So while some of
my other activities do detract from my writing time, there not really a bad
thing are they? I clearly need to do
more thinking about my goals and whats realistic.
I
have so many story ideas I can’t get them all down on
a give day. I already have more outlines
than I will be able to finish in the next few years. Like I alluded to
earlier, I love to make the story concepts, writing them is like a grind right
now… My immediate goal is to finish 5-6
novelette length End Age stories from the Domination Era and shop them around
to various agents as a compilation novel.
I have Resources, Vacation, and Stranglehold finished. Contact and Infiltrator are
outlined, but Contact is futuristic sport centric and may be short, so I
may do another sport related one.
