Frank Herbert's Dune
Made possible by the Sci-Fi channel, this masterful story is what I love most. A coming of age tale with flair and substance set in a unique world.
Television
Dark Angel
Max is a superhuman girl trying to stay out of trouble and make it in a kind of post-apocalyptic depression. The final episode of the first season, "...and Jesus brought a Cassarole" is quite possibly the single most emotionally charged piece of TV ever shot.
Rome
Not having HBO, I missed out on this till I found a used copy on DVD. All I can say is, this is 22 episodes of pure television bliss. As good as things get in my book. I really can't say enough good things about the story and characters found here, so go watch it.
